Your day-to-day plan

Vancouver
Arrive at Vancouver International Airport and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. The next two days are yours to explore this enchanting coastal city. Take a stroll round Stanley Park, head over to Granville Island to discover a world of food, art and culture or take a shuttle bus over to the North Shore and the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 70 metres over the Capilano River.

Sea-to-Sky Highway
Today you will drive the famous Sea-to-Sky Highway, a stunning drive with the soaring Coast Mountains on one side and blue waters of Howe Sound on the other. Although it’s only 2 hours from Vancouver to Whistler, be prepared for this drive to take all day as there are plenty of attractions off the highway such as Brandywine Falls, emerging after a short walk through the forest, Alice Lake, and the Britannia Mine Museum where you get to board an underground mine train!

Whistler
The next two days are free to allow you to explore Whistler, a vibrant year-round resort nestled amongst the Pacific Coastal mountains. Stroll the pedestrianised downtown, which is home to fabulous restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops, take the gondola up Whistler Mountain and enjoy breath-taking views or join a bear-watching tour to go in search of local Black Bears. For a more active adventure, hire a bike to enjoy the easy trails in the valley, or take a canoe out on to Alta Lake.

Kamloops
Leave Whistler behind and follow Highway 99 north as it winds its way through the Coast Mountain range. Be amazed by the spectacular scenery as you travel alongside fast-flowing rivers and past vibrant blue lakes and gushing waterfalls. We recommend picking up a picnic lunch at a farm shop in Pemberton to enjoy on the beach at Seaton Lake. As you leave the Coast Mountain range behind, the scenery suddenly changes are you enter the semi-arid rolling hills of the BC interior. In Kamloops, take a stroll in Riverside Park before heading down Victoria Street, with its heritage buildings and diverse array of restaurants.

Revelstoke
Spend the morning at the BC Wildlife Park, a spacious zoo and rehabilitation centre with animals native to Western Canada, such as grizzly bears and arctic wolves. Following the Trans-Canada Highway, you’ll pass Sushwap Lake with its waterfront communities and sandy beaches before arriving in Revelstoke. Spend the next day exploring Mt Revelstoke National Park, admiring the views over the Columbia Valley or join a white-water rafting tour on the crystal-clear waters of the Illecillewaet River.

Yoho National Park
Get back on the Trans-Canada Highway as it weaves its way through the Columbia Mountain range, making stops at the Giant Cedars Boardwalk Trail and Canyon Hot Springs. In the town of Golden, visit the Golden Skybridge, home to Canada’s highest suspension bridges. As you walk 426 feet above an expansive canyon, engulfed by the Columbia Valley, the epic views of the Rocky and Purcell Mountain ranges will take your breath away. Continue on to Yoho National Park, where you will stay at the spectacularly located Emerald Lake Lodge.

Lake Louise
It’s only a short drive south to Lake Louise so take the morning to explore Yoho National Park. After dipping your toes in the cool Faeder Lake, head to Takakkaw Falls which is the 2nd highest in Canada, then take a hike around the cool blue Emerald Lake before finally stopping at the scenic Natural Bridge. In the afternoon, enter Banff National Park and arrive at Lake Louise, one of the most photographed lakes in the world. You’ll understand why when you see the turquoise lake, with the distant mountains and Victoria Glacier providing the perfect backdrop.

Banff
Start the morning with a visit to Moraine Lake, marvelling at the views down the Valley of the Ten Peaks. As you journey down to Banff, we recommend leaving the highway and driving on the Bow Valley Parkway, stopping at viewpoints over Morant’s Curve and Castle Mountain and taking a walk at Johnstone Canyon to see spectacular waterfalls. You have a full day to explore the charming mountain town of Banff and the surrounding National Park. Relax in the historic Hot Springs, head up Sulphur Mountain on a scenic gondola ride to enjoy incredible views of the surrounding mountains, or take the riverside path to the beautiful Bow Falls.

Calgary
Spend a final morning in the mountains, downtown Banff has some interesting museums to visit, and you can cruise on Lake Minnewanke, just on the outskirts of town. Your final journey is down to Calgary, nicknamed ‘Cowtown’, due to its long cattle rearing history. There is an abundance of things to see and do across the city, such as the living history museum known as Heritage Park Historical Village, and the popular Calgary Tower with its observation deck offering views towards the mountains you have just travelled from.

Fly Home
Your Canadian adventure has come to an end. After some last-minute shopping and sightseeing, transfer independently to Calgary International Airport for your flight home.
