Your day-to-day plan

Calgary
Your holiday starts by flying over to Calgary. After picking up your vehicle, you will have the rest of the day to visit Alberta’s largest city. Heritage Park and the Calgary Tower are two attractions we recommend amongst many others.

Historic Reesor Ranch
Today you will drive across to Saskatchewan and overnight at the Historic Reesor Ranch for two nights. Located in Cypress Hills West Block Wilderness Area, this will give you the perfect opportunity to combine horseback riding with star gazing as it is also a Dark Sky Preserve.

Cypress Hills
On your way to Val Marie, we recommend you enjoy all that Cypress Hills has to offer. From visiting Fort Walsh National Historic Site and learning about the North West Mounted Police to exploring the Conglomerate Cliffs, which offer some spectacular views of the park or simply taking part in the many activities offered within the park.

Grasslands National Park
Today, you will visit Grasslands National Park, where you will discover how the original North American prairie looked. On the West Block, we suggest taking the Ecotour Scenic Drive to spot wildlife. On the East Block, we recommend the Badlands Parkway for spectacular vistas. Continue to Moose Jaw for your overnight stay.

Moose Jaw
Today you will have the opportunity to visit Moose Jaw before driving east to Regina. Make sure to visit the notorious Tunnels of Moose Jaw, where Al Capone is rumoured to have engaged in bootlegging activities during the US prohibition era.

Regina
Today you will visit the bustling capital city of Regina. Wascana Park is not only home to the provincial Legislative Building but also art installations and museums. Make sure not to miss out Canada’s only training academy for the next generation of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Manitou Beach
Famous for its healing properties, Little Manitou Lake draws travellers from around the world. This unique lake’s properties come from the concentrations of mineral salts so you can combine lake swimming with the benefits of a spa.

Saskatoon
Famous for its culinary scene, Saskatoon will leave any foodie hungry for more. In addition to Wanuskewin Heritage Park, the city also offers a picturesque cityscape and has even been nicknamed the “Paris of the Prairies”, so make sure to include a stroll along the riverside as part of your stay.

Waskesiu Lake
You will continue north until reaching Prince Albert National Park. Northern Saskatchewan offers some of the best-preserved sections of wilderness left on the planet. Opened in 1928, this national park offers it's visitors forests, lakes, beaches, trails and wildlife. Your options here are endless.
