Travelling by motorhome is one of the best ways to explore Canada with its wide-open roads and campgrounds situated in pristine nature. The region is home to some of Canada’s most iconic wildlife including moose & beavers, and the waters of the St. Lawrence River is one of the best places in the world for whale-watching.

Day 1
Montréal
On arrival to Montréal International Airport, transfer independently to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring the historic Old Town, home to the Notre-Dame Basilica, which is one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in Canada.
Day 2-3
La Mauricie National Park
Pick up your motorhome and after stocking up on groceries, it’s time for the adventures to begin. Your first destination is La Mauricie National Park, set in the southern Laurentian Mountains. Take a drive along the 63km scenic parkway which winds its way through the National Park. Take a kayak out on to calm waters of Lake Wapizagonke, where vibrant forests grow right up to the waters edge.
Day 4
Lac Saint-Jean
Head north towards Lac Saint-Jean, a vast lake with many kilometres of sandy beaches. On the southern shore you will find Val-Jalbert Historical Village, a recreation of a 1920s town, and Ouiatchouan Falls, a 72m waterfall that bursts out of the old growth forest. Take the cable car to the top of the falls to get a panoramic view of Lac Saint-John.
Day 5
Saguenay Fjord National Park
A short drive will bring you to the breath-taking Saguenay Fjord National Park. Carved by glaciers, thousands of years ago, the Saguenay Fjord stretches for over 100km and is surrounded by 350m steep cliffs. The majesty of this scenery is best appreciated from the water so why not join a boat trip or a kayak tour of the fjord.
Day 6-7
Tadoussac
Located at the point where the Saguenay and St. Lawrence River meet, Tadoussac is an internationally renowned whale-watching site. Minke, Humpback, Fin, and Blue Whales all come to feed here during the summer months and can be spotted from the shore. Beluga Whales are also commonly seen as they live in the St. Lawrence all year round. Spend 2 nights here both to enjoy the spectacular location and join a boat tour in search of these gentle giants.
Day 8
Malbaie River High Gorge National Park
Leave the coast behind and head inland to the Malbaie River High Gorge National Park, named after a series of valleys, that cut deep into a range of high mountains. The shallow waters of the Malbaie River attract wildlife such as beavers, caribou, and moose. The park is home to hiking trails of varying length and difficulty allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beautiful forests.
Day 9-10
Jacques-Cartier National Park
Less than 30 minutes from Québec City, Jacques-Cartier National Park is host to a spectacular glacial valley and offers a wide range of outdoor activities from hiking to canoeing. Spend 2 nights here, the convenient location means that on your full day you can explore and have lunch in Québec City, before then retiring back to your serene campground in the evening.
Day 11-12
Mont Tremblant National Park
Head south-west to Mont Tremblant National Park, an oasis of peace where protected lakes, rivers and forests are waiting to be discovered. So go on a hike, hire a kayak or if you are feeling adventurous book on a guided Via Ferrata experience. Clipped into a steel cable that runs the length of the cliff, you will cross a challenging face with built-in steps, handles, beams, and various types of bridges while overlooking the meandering Diable River far below.
Day 13
Montebello
In the morning, take the Panoramic Gondola up to the summit of Mont Tremblant for breath-taking view of the Laurentian Mountains, Lac Tremblant and the surrounding valleys. It’s only a short drive to your last destination of this adventure - Montebello, located on the shores of the Ottawa River, and home to several cultural and historical attractions such as the Manoir Papineau National Historic Site.
Day 14
Fly Home
Your adventures of Western Québec have come to end. Drop off the motorhome before transferring independently to Montréal International Airport for your flight home.
