Travelling by motorhome is one of the best ways to explore Eastern Canada with its wide open roads and campgrounds situated in pristine nature.

Day 1
Toronto
On arrival to Toronto Pearson International Airport, transfer independently to your hotel. Beautifully located on the shores of Lake Ontario, Toronto is one of the world’s most vibrant cities. This evening, we recommned that you travel up the iconic CN Tower and then be spoilt for choice in the foodie’s heaven that is St Lawrence Market.
Day 2
Tobermory
Pick up your motorhome and after having stocked up on groceries, it’s time for the adventures to begin. Your first destination is the stunning harbour town of Tobermory, surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of Lake Huron. The waters are the final resting place of two dozen shipwrecks, and you can view them from the glass bottom boats that leave the harbour.
Day 3
Manitoulin Island
Ride the Chi-Cheemaun ferry over to Manitoulin Island, the world’s largest freshwater island and a must-visit destination for Indigenous culture and outdoor adventures. When on the island you can learn about Indigenous history on a guided canoe tour or hike the popular Cup and Saucer Trail for spectacular views over the island.
Day 4-5
Sault Ste Marie
Head east along the shore at Lake Huron to Sault Ste Marie, one of the oldest French settlements in North America. Spend two nights here so that you have plenty of time to explore the wide variety of attractions on offer, from a cruise on the famous locks of the St Marys River, to the fascinating Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre. Operating seasonally, the Agawa Canyon Train Tour takes guests into parts of the Northern Ontario Wilderness that can’t be reached by road and comes highly recommended.
Day 6-7
Lake Superior Provincial Park
Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world, so spend two nights here to fully explore its shoreline. When the lake is calm, visit the Agawa Rock Pictographs where you’ll discover 35 red ochre images painted on the shear rock face around 400 years ago. Further up the lake, stop for a picnic lunch at Katherine Cove or Old Woman Bay and dip a toe into the cool waters. For those wanting to get out on the lake, guided tours and canoe rentals are available at Naturally Superior Adventures in Michipicoten.
Day 8
Ivanhoe Lake Provincial Park
After picking up supplies in Wawa and taking a picture with the famous Wawa Goose (you can’t miss it!), head east into the heart of the Boreal Forests of Northern Ontario. Your destination is Ivanhoe Lake Provincial Park, with its long curving sandy beach and warm, shallow water the lake is ideal for swimming. Many of the campsites here offer spectacular views of the lake.
Day 9
Cochrane
Continue travelling through the Boreal Forest, past lakes, and waterfalls until you reach the town of Cochrane. This town is famous for The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat which is the only facility in the world dedicated purely to the care of polar bears. Home to 3 Polar Bears Henry, Ganuk and Inukshuk, the facility is focused on conservation, education, and research of these incredible animals.
Day 10
Temiskaming Shores
Located by the lake of the same name, the small city of Temiskaming Shores will feel like a metropolis after the last few days! Just south of the city is the Devil’s Rock Hiking Trail, where a short hike through the forest leads you to the top of a cliff overlooking Temiskaming Lake almost 300 feet below.
Day 11-12
Killarney
Your next stop in this adventure is the small village of Killarney, stunningly located on the north shore of Lake Huron. We recommend spending two nights here and taking a full day to take to the water in nearby Killarney Provincial Park. Here you can paddle through calm crystal clear waters with views towards La Cloche Mountain range, stopping for a picnic lunch on one of the many deserted bays.
Day 13
Blue Mountain
Located at Georgian Bay, Blue Mountain Village is a year-round resort with plenty of activities on offer from scenic hikes to zip lines. We recommend taking the gondola up the mountain for fantastic views over Georgian Bay, which is an arm of Lake Huron.
Day 14
Fly Home
Your adventures of Northern Ontario have come to end. Drop off the motorhome before transferring independently to Toronto Pearson International Airport for your flight home.
