The mighty St. Lawrence River and dramatic glacial-cut, forest-filled valleys dominate the province of Québec, and this motorhome holiday lets you experience the best outdoor adventures that Eastern Québec has to offer. Travelling by motorhome is one of the best ways to explore Canada with its wide-open roads and campgrounds situated in pristine nature. Marking the eastern end of the mighty Appalachian Mountain chain, this region feels like the ‘end of the world’, and is a haven for wildlife including seabirds, seals, moose and caribou.

Day 1
Montréal
On arrival to Montréal International Airport, transfer independently to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring the historic Old Town, home to the Notre-Dame Basilica, which is one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in Canada.
Day 2
Baie-Saint-Paul
Pick up your motorhome and after stocking up on groceries, it’s time for the adventures to begin. Travel along the shores of the mighty St Lawrence River towards the town Baie-Saint-Paul, a cultural hub, home to a variety of museums and art galleries.
Day 3-4
Tadoussac
Located at the point where the Saguenay and St. Lawrence River meet, Tadoussac is an internationally renowned whale-watching site. Minke, Humpback, Fin, and Blue Whales all come to feed here during the summer months and can be spotted from the shore. Beluga Whales are also commonly seen as they live in the St. Lawrence all year round. Spend 2 nights here both to enjoy the spectacular location and join a boat tour in search of these gentle giants.
Day 5
Bic National Park
Catch the ferry from Les Escoumins over the St. Lawrence River and then head north to Bic National Park, a peaceful region of picturesque bays, islands and mountains. Go for a hike on one of the network of trails that cross the park, have a picnic on the beach and be on the lookout for wildlife. Both Grey and Harbour Seals, the park’s animal emblem, can be found here lounging on the rocks and thousands of seabirds visit in in the spring and summer to nest.
Day 6-7
Gaspesie National Park
Head up the Gaspé Peninsula and then inland to the Gaspesie National Park, a vast region of mountains and a paradise for hiking enthusiasts. The park contains the highest peaks in Québec with more than 25 rising above 1000 metres. The wide range of habitats within the park means it is home to a variety of wildlife such as Moose and Woodland Caribou.
Day 8-9
Forillon National Park
Marking the eastern end of the Appalachian Mountain chain, the Forillon National Park feels like the ‘end of the world’ with its rugged cliffs dropping into the ocean. Along the shore you will find pebble beaches tucked into secluded coves and traditional Gaspé fishing villages. Whilst inland there are forests, lakes and marshes to create a landscape rich in wildlife. We recommend joining a kayak trip to admire the stunning landscape from the water.
Day 10
Campbellton
Just over the border in New Brunswick, Campbellton is a small city located on the south bank of the Restigouche River. Hike to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain to marvel at the scenic views or head to the Battle of the Restigouche National Historic Site, site of the wreck of the Machault and the last naval battle between France and Great Britain for possession of North American territory.
Day 11
Riviere-du-Loup
Drive via the town of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac and visit Fort Ingall an authentic reconstruction of a British fort built on the same site in 1839 during a border conflict between the United States and Canada. Carry on to Riviere-du-Loup, a beautiful French-influenced town with cultural attractions such as Fraser Manor, a prestigious seigniorial residence that has been sympathetically restored.
Day 12
Jacques-Cartier National Park
Travel along and over the St. Lawrence River towards Jacques-Cartier National Park. Your route will take you past Québec City so consider dropping in for lunch and a stroll round stunning Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 30 minutes away from the city is Jacques-Cartier National Park, a spectacular glacial valley with a wide range of outdoor activities from hiking to canoeing.
Day 13
Oka National Park
A short distance northwest of Montréal is Oka National Park, your final destination. History and the great outdoors collide here; take a stroll on the Calvaire Trail which incorporates a panoramic viewpoint of Lac des Deux-Montagnes, where three chapels have been keeping watch since 1742 or relax on Oka Beach where kayaks, pedal boats, barbeques, and picnic tables are available for your enjoyment.
Day 14
Fly Home
Your adventures in Eastern Québec have come to an end. Drop off the motorhome before transferring independently to Montréal International Airport for your flight home.
