Day 1
Banff
Upon arrival at Calgary Airport meet your driver for your private transfer to the resort town of Banff. Marvel at the town surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains and steeped in Canadian Railway history with Banff being promoted as a tourist resort dating back to the late 1800’s and has remained a popular tourist destination since then. Visitors come for the outdoor playground the town offers with extensive hiking and biking in the areas as well as the natural hot springs which helped put Banff on the map. Overnight at the famous Fairmont Banff Springs.
Day 2
Banff
The Fairmont Banff Springs, known for its Scottish baronial castle architecture and its deep-rooted Canadian Pacific Railway history has the perfect location at the base of Rundle Mountain, making it the best place to kick start your day on the Banff Gondola, which takes you up Sulphur Mountain to enjoy breathtaking views over Banff and the surrounding mountain ranges. Learn about the culture, geology and wildlife on one of many tours available or explore sights such as Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain Drive and Two Jack Viewpoint.
Day 3
Banff
The mountain town offers a diverse food scene from cosy intimate bistros to elegant dining rooms in grand hotels. In addition, the Fairmont Banff Springs also offers an expertly designed golf course with stunning mountain views. Or for those wanting to unwind book in for a treatment at the Fairmont Spa or relaxing by the two top of the line saltwater pools, one indoor and one outdoor, both heated to the perfect temperatures year-round.
Day 4
Lake Louise
Visit the most treasured spots in the Canadian Rockies on this amazing excursion through Banff and Yoho National Parks. Experience the evolution of the land and discover how it has shaped the appearance of natural wonders found in these spectacular mountain settings. Overnight at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise overlooking one of the most photographed lakes in the world. Dine at the iconic Fairview restaurant at a table next to the floor to ceiling windows to take in the stunning view of Victoria Glacier.
Day 5
Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops
The route from Lake Louise heading West to Vancouver is perhaps the most legendary of the rail routes Rocky Mountaineer offer. Travel through dramatic scenery of mountain passes and canyons as well as experiencing the Spiral Tunnels. As you depart Lake Louise toast to your journey ahead and picture such landmarks as Castle Mountain as the train weaves through spectacular mountains soaring across the horizon and across the Continental Divide.
Day 6
Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver
From inside Rocky Mountaineer's signature glass dome carriages you will see dramatic changes in scenery as you travel from the snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the interior. Travelling in GoldLeaf Service, enjoy elegantly plated meals prepared with local ingredients, award-winning service, an exclusive outdoor viewing platform and expansive views through the panoramic windows of a bi-level glass-dome coach.
Day 7
Vancouver
Explore Vancouver’s most popular sites including Stanley Park ensuring to stop at the totem pole display in Brockton Point, catch a shuttle bus over to the North Shore and the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 70 metres over the Capilano River. Then stroll the historic district of Gastown, which is home to fabulous restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops.
Day 8
Vancouver
Today, why not take flight at Flyover Canada and head over to Granville Island to discover a world of food, art and culture. We also recommend either a Whalewatching tour or flightseeing tour to explore the waterways & mountains surrounding this Pacific coastal city. Spend your evening back at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and the glamourous Notch8 Restaurant & Bar which pays homage to the hotel’s storied history and legacy as a luxury hotel along the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Day 9
Silversea
Make your way to Canada Place, to board your cruise with Silversea. Day 10
Scenic cruising the Inside Passage
The Inside Passage is 500 miles of beautifully intricate waterways set between islands and rising mountains. This sailing route is popular due to its sheltered waters offering chances to glimpse whales and other marine life whilst taking in the landscape. Spend the day enjoying the many amenities on offer.
Day 11
Ketchikan
The salmon capital of the world and the perfect way to start your welcome into Alaska. Visit Ketchikan’s Heritage Centre where you can view intricately carved totem poles and learn of the indigenous Tlingit and Haida people of these lands. Ketchikan offers some of the oldest and most precious totems in existence. Lying just 22 miles east of Ketchikan is the spectacular Misty Fjords National Monument. The monument is covered with thick rainforests and dramatic waterfalls. Wildlife here is abundant and varied from mountain goats to black bears as well as wolverines and wolves.
Day 12
Juneau
Alaska’s capital Juneau is perhaps one of the most scenic state capitals. Its setting in Alaska’s wilderness makes Juneau extremely remote and the only access is via sea or air. Juneau Icefield extends more than 1,500 square miles and is home to 40 large glaciers including the majestic Mendenhall Glacier which cascades down just 12 miles from Juneau’s downtown. Some of the best ways to explore are hiking the many trails or a flightseeing tour to take in this ice kingdom.
Day 13
Skagway
Alaska’s gold rush history is prevalent in Skagway but especially in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and the downtown area which sprang up in the late 1800’s goldrush. Ride the White Pass & Yukon Route alongside cascading waterfalls and gorges. Hike historic trails Chilkoot Trail Hike to follow in the steps of the gold seekers.
Day 14
Sitka
Sitka is perhaps the heart of Alaska’s history as in 1867 when the US purchased Alaska from Russia the transfer ceremony was held in Sitka and so became Alaska’s first capital. Sitka’s Russian heritage is highlighted by St Michael’s Orthodox Cathedral that is topped with an onion dome as well as the Russian Bishop’s house nearby. Sitka National Historical Park is the site of Russia’s defeat of the indigenous Tlingit people. Located on Baranof Island this island community thrives on the land and sea here and is only accessible by plane or boat. The waters here boast some of the most incredible marine wildlife including humpback whales, sea lions, harbour seals and sea otters.
Day 15
Scenic cruising Hubbard Glacier
The largest glacier in North America with a calving front that is more than six miles wide. A very active glacier experiencing two major surges in the past 30 years’ experience this glacier up close on a cruise by. Today is a perfect day to take advantage of having breakfast in bed and having a leisurely day onboard.
Day 16
Anchorage
This pretty harbour town is the entry point into Kenai Fjords National Park and home to Holgate Glacier where one of the many cruise tours will get you up close to hear the thunderous roar of the glacier. Anchorage is easy to reach from Seward and in the evening, you will board Alaska Railroad’s GoldStar service to Anchorage winding along Turnagain Arm which is perhaps some of the most scenic stretch of railway in the world.
Day 17
Anchorage
Home to almost half of Alaska’s population Anchorage downtown core juxtaposes against the peaks of the wilderness just beyond the city limits. Learn about Alaska’s history at the Anchorage Museum which tells the story of Alaska and the North. Alaska Native Heritage Centre attracts people from across Alaska showcasing the traditions from all over the state in a single place. Learn through stories, song, dance and sport performances from each culture. The Chugach Mountains frame Anchorage’s downtown skyline and Chugach State Park and Chugach National Forest are home to the most accessible adventures in Alaska, some hikes are accessible only 20 minutes from downtown.

Fly Home
Bid farewell to the Last Frontier as you greet your driver for the journey to Anchorage Airport for your flight back home.
